Underwater Pool Lighting splice kit

Underwater Pool Lighting splice kit

In an ideal world if you needed to replace your underwater pool or spa light, you would also replace the entire length of cord at the same time.  In many situations this is not economically feasible.  In many situations lights may have been installed decades earlier and over time many things can occur that make it difficult or close to impossible to get the old light cord out, let alone a new cord pulled through.

Typical things that occur are as follows:

  • Ground settles crushing the conduit
  • Tree roots destroy the conduit
  • Patios or decks are installed that destroy the conduit
  • Heavy tractors or trucks crush the conduit
  • Other installations cut through the old cord which was repaired in a way that prevents its removal
  • Conduits become clogged with dirt or debris making it impossible to pull anything through them

Ideally you would replace the entire run of cord but when that is not possible you can safely use a splice kit.  At the link below is our kit and it has been installed many times and is safe.

I know this is meant for 12v pool lights, but how safe are they a really? I’m very interested in this product, but I have children and worry about their safety. Even if 12v can’t electrocute you, but what about the level injury? Thank you!
