Steps to close your pool for the season

1. Balance the water chemistry by adjusting pH, chlorine, and other levels as needed.
2. Run the pool's filtration system for a few days to ensure that the water is clean and clear.
3. Drain the pool to a level that is below the skimmer and return lines.
4. Disconnect and store hoses, pumps, and other equipment.
5. Clean the pool and the surrounding area.
6. Remove any ladders, handrails, and other accessories that should be stored indoors over the winter.
7. Close any openings in the pool such as skimmer and return lines.
8. Apply winter algaecide and a pool cover to protect the pool from debris and cold weather.
9. Make sure the pool cover is properly secured, so it does not blow off in strong winds.
10. Finally, store any equipment you remove and turn off the electrical supply to the pool equipment if necessary.
