My pool looks kind of green, what should I do?

If your pool water is green, it means that there is an excess of algae in the water. To fix this issue, you should:

Turn your pump on and have it run for at least 24 hours when adding chemicals.

Shock the pool with chlorine to kill the algae.
Use muriatic acid to balance the ph.
Using liquid bleach works the best.  If it already has a green tint use at least 3 gallons of any type of bleach, doesn't matter what brand, they all work the same for inground pools.
Do not dump in one place but rather disperse around the entire pool.
You should see changes almost instantly.
Also use 1/2 gallon of muriatic acid spread around the pool to balance the ph after a bleach shock.
By morning it should be blue again as long as the filter was running the entire time.
Use your pool brush on a pole to scrub the entire pool surface so the filter can capture the dead algae.
Clean your filter 1 day after you shock your pool.
24 hours after using this method the pool is safe for swimmers and should be crystal clear.
